Gabby, one of our incredible clients, recently shared her story with us, and it reminded us why we do what we do. Her bravery has left a lasting mark on all of us, and we’re honored to share her experience in her own words.
More than an image reveal
When Gabby returned to our studio for her image reveal, she carried the kind of courage that stays quiet but fills the room. She told us she was excited but admitted, “I’m so nervous to see these pictures… oh, my goodness.” What we didn’t know at the time was just how profound her story was.
"As a sexual assault survivor, I lost all my self-esteem and my confidence in myself,” Gabby shared. “It took two years for me to finally gain that back.” Boudoir photography wasn't just a bold step for her; it was a declaration of self-love and growth—a celebration of reclaiming herself after years of pain and healing.
Why she chose us
The decision to step in front of the camera felt monumental to Gabby. She had taken time to carefully research her options and found comfort in the experiences of others. "When I actually looked through [Patrick’s] website and reviewed the gallery, I saw these women, and they didn’t look uncomfortable, they didn’t look tense… they looked relaxed,” she said. “That’s what I wanted in my photoshoot.”
From the very beginning, we aimed to create a space where she could feel safe and empowered. For us, photography is never just about the pictures. It’s about making every client feel truly seen and helping them feel at home in their own skin.
Seeing herself through a new lens
The most magical part of Gabby’s story unfolded in the moments after she saw her photos for the first time. We’ll never forget her reaction.
“Oh my goodness,” she gasped. “Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry, these are gorgeous. Patrick, I don’t know what to say. I’m shaking right now. Oh my gosh.” Her voice, thick with emotion, reminded us why we pour our hearts into this work.
Gabby couldn’t hold back her joy as she moved through her images. "These came out better than I had ever expected. Honestly, the editing is amazing, and, like, you could barely even see you touched it up.
She gazed at her images, and continued, “Like, some of these pictures… I’m absolutely glowing.” That glow wasn’t just the work of lighting or editing; it was the undeniable sparkle of someone reconnecting with their confidence and inner light.
"That is all of me...and I love all of me"
After viewing the photos, Gabby shared how profoundly the experience had impacted her. “Now that I’ve seen the images, I’ve been absolutely blown away,” she said. “I definitely have a completely different perspective on myself and how I see myself.” Her words were a testament to the empowering potential of boudoir photography.
With pride and newfound strength, Gabby reflected, “I carry myself with my head higher, and I know that my crown might tip, but I’ll never let it fall. And I have those photos as a reminder of that.”
